THE SSN METHOD

The SSN Method, named after founder Sarah Sadie Newett, is a movement method with foundations in Pilates, yoga and aerial, designed to change how you move and feel, inside and out. Both classic and innovative in its approach, intentional movement is at the core of the method, where learning to move your body properly leads to heightened levels of movement throughout your life. You’ll remember the power that lives within you while carrying yourself with confidence and grace.

The method was created for women to learn how their bodies work through remembering their own strength, born from Sarah’s own longing for a more comprehensive approach to fitness than what typical movement practices offer. Amassed from decades of experience on the mat and in the air, SSN movements are curated and refined. Practicing them methodically not only transforms the way you look, but has a dramatic effect on how you feel and move through life.

Group Aerial and Mat classes are capped at 6 students.

Semi-privates are by appointment only, and session prices are based on the number of students attending.

Whether you’re looking to transform your strength and flexibility or recover from an injury, pregnancy or life transition, private sessions have the power to bring you back to yourself, remind you of your own strength and push you to your limits. It’s all up to you.

IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL SESSIONS

In-person private sessions center around movement on the Pilates reformer, mat, aerial equipment and bodywork, while virtual sessions center around movement using accessible props like a folding chair, foam roller, resistance bands and any Pilates or aerial equipment you have available. Whether in-person or virtual, you’ll learn how to get from where you are to where you want to be.

SSN ONLINE

Center your movement practice, anytime, anywhere.

Join SSN ONLINE, a digital studio that centers your movement practice using ordinary Pilates and yoga-based movement in extraordinary ways. Designed with your time in mind, move through powerful, mood-boosting and hyper-efficient 10-20 minute sequences using props you have within reach to create a daily SSN practice that transforms how you feel, look and move.

Choose your class by duration and prop type to experience SSN’s signature connected, effective movement method, anytime, anywhere. Expect attention to detail in cues, creativity in movement, and Sarah’s passion in each class. Stream from anywhere with any device – desktop, phone, TV or tablet.

ABOUT SARAH

I’ve always been a student of movement. A young dancer turned aerialist, I turned to Pilates and Yoga in my professional years to learn the specifics of how women’s body’s work and how important it is for us to feel powerful, free and alive within them.

Women want what works and what feels best — connected, effective movement that creates structural strength and beautiful lines. Teaching privately for almost two decades has taught me to intuitively anticipate the needs of women’s bodies as well as their next movements. As a result, women come away from our work together feeling accomplished in their minds and confident in the capacity of their bodies.

I work face-to-face with women 1:1 and in small groups, either in-studio or online. Women can also move on their own time through the SSN Method digital studio, no matter where in the world they are or how much time they have to focus on their movement. I am honored to work with young dancers to help fill some of the gaps that traditional dance, Pilates and yoga often miss.

Transforming bodies and mentoring movement teachers is my lifelong passion and calling. I’ve had the privilege to lead and develop teacher training in aerial yoga, aerial dance, Pilates and flexibility, as well as own multiple boutique studios — my first in Aspen, CO and my current in Westport, CT. We’re just getting started.
